Camp Lotsa Dogs Courtesy Posting for Give A Dog A Second Chance

Someone notified me that Camp Lotsa Dogs doggie daycare/boarding/rescue is "courtesy posting" ads for dogs on Petfinder for Give A Dog A Second Chance.

I do not have past experience with Camp Lotsa Dogs, so I cannot adequately comment on the nature of their relationship.

The owner of this establishment has been notified of this organization has previously been removed from Petfinder. I also contacted her to provide a link to this blog to look over.

Example of Courtesy post:
(contact information indicates to write to doggielover email, which is GADASC's email.

Once the owner of this facility read the blog and found out her facility was mentioned, I was receiving emails, phone calls and voicemails.

Last voicemail:
Someone just forwarded me you blog about Melita. Unfortunately, when you do something like that it is called liable. My lawyer has been given a copy, I know where you live, and I have your number. I will take everything you own for the rest of your life if you don't take my name off your blog. You do not get to terrorize other people, you don't do what she did to you which is terrorize you. You get my fucking name off there, and don't you EVER associate me with you, or her, or anybody else. What I do is my business, but I will have my lawyer take everything you own for the rest of your fucking life you little bitch."

  1. REALLY.........What is wrong with you? You would rather see all the dogs that Melita has gotten from KILL SHELTERS die in those kill shelters then be brought from the U.S or Montreal to her to be vetted and find a home.
I have adopted all 3 of my dogs from Melita and couldn't be happier.

Melita is still running a rescue because she is a GREAT rescue. She has many Volunteers and supporters because they know her and know how much Melita cares for all dogs that she has in her care. Plus Melita out of all non-profit independent rescues has the highest adoptions out.

It's NOT Melita's issue that people don't listen to her when she tells them about a dog. Melita is honest and it's people like you that make life difficult for people that do things out of their heart to SAVE dogs that would have been killed unless she took them in.

Your a terrible person and need to stop your gossip that carries no truth it it at all.

  2. I agree you hide behind all your lies you cant even show your name or face just a stuip blog....

  3. As a long time rescuer both these ladies have no interest in the well being of the animals. Any good rescue will tell you the same. Laws need to be changed to be sure that anyone who is doing rescue adheres to a Code of Ethics.

  6. It is disgusting that some people need to make blogs like this running other people down to make it look like they are the all knowing hero!!

Anyone, I mean ANYONE who takes the time to save dogs, UNWANTED dogs from kill shelters doesn't deserve treatment like this.

SHAME ON YOU!!!! You call yourself an animal lover, but junk like this is nothing but a disservice to every animals she has, can and will save!!!

  7. I adopted a cat from Melita last year..when I arrived at her TOWNHOUSE, she had 7 dogs, all of which we're locked in A SMALL TOWNHOUSE ROOM. She then took me into the "kitty room" there were more then 30 cats and kittens in a SMALL TOWNHOUSE ROOM. Both my friend and I counted so I am not exaggerating at all. Gismo instantly jumped into my arms, she was filthy and being an animal lover I could not leave her there. Melita had no paperwork for the cat or anything. By the time I got home I noticed that her stitches (from having being spayed 4 days before) were severely infected. I took Gismo to my vet and got her all fixed up and healthy and clean now.

If Melita were a true animal lover then she WOULD NOT HAVE THAT MANY ANIMALS IN THAT SMALL OF A SPACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the kill shelters are horrible but is subjected a dog or a cat to Melita`s living conditions any better?

and hey Genius's THE BLOG WRITERS NAME IS NAT!!! So explain to me how she is hiding behind her blog? Also a blog is something where you write your thoughts feelings concerns and everything, so if you don't like it then don't read it! Or if your going to comment don't just say how she is hiding behind her blog, why don't you show some proof that Melita is so amazing!

She is DISGUSTING, and what she is doing to those animals is animal cruelty.

Note to Melita if you read this, if you want to turn your self into a respectable animal RESCUER then learn how to spell and use proper grammar, your English is horrible!

  9. Sounds like a familiar story Jessica! The conditions were filthy when I went to her old place(two time removed) in Oshawa. My husband and two sister's are my witness. I heard the last townhouse she was in was small, so I guess she had to cram as many dogs and cats as she could!
How could she leave the poor cat with infected stitches like that? Must have been so painful! That is animal neglect and another sickening story to add to the list from her "rescue".

I love how the only comment Melita can come up with is "grow up." Why don't you take proper care of your animals(since you are making so much money off of them and sitting on your arse) instead of being on the internet all of the time?

  10. I adopted a cat from Melita in 2008 when she resided on Athol st in Oshawa. The conditions were horrible and I fell in love with the cat. She told me that "skitz" had belonged to a relative that could no longer care for her. The house was filthy and smelled really bad the cats were held in a upper floor laundry room the litter box had more than a couple days worth of defecation in it and the smell of urine was a little over powering. Melita herself was very nice. I didnt get the feeling that she really knew what she was doing but like I said she was nice. After bring the cat who I renamed "Tayte" home things seemed fine and I was happy until 3 days after I had to rush her to the vet with an infection in here ear she had to have 2 types of drops a steroid ointment and a collar for 2 weeks. then after a few months of being told my cats was in great health and well checked by Melita's vets Tayte was diagnosed with Cushing's disease and had to be put to rest. My vet stated if she would have been caught early enough it could have been treated but since it was most likely present months before I had adopted her it was to advanced and nothing I could do. Miss you Tayte

    1. Ive been diagnosed with cushing disease, i don't have to be put to sleep.
The success rate of treating animals with cushings is far higher than that of humans, all the cat needed easily a special diabetic diet, and it could have lived for 20 years.
You're an asshole for euthanizing it.

  14. This site makes me really sad. I adopted my dog Bolt from Melita over a year ago. She was extremely up front about the fact that Bolt had aggression issues and would need to be worked with. She did not try to make a profit off of me and simply charged me $100 for a dog that could have easily been 'sold off' for a higher price, as he is a purebred American Eskimo. As per Melita's warnings, I enrolled Bolt in obedience training classes and I am happy to say that he is a fantastic little buddy and the best dog we could have hoped for. She took him from a situation where he was with owners who wanted to euthanize him and practically gave him to a family who had the time for him. She also gave us absolutely every ounce of support that we could need. In fact, I am so impressed with Melita and her rescue that I encouraged my sister to adopt from her. She adopted Champp (now Rocky) last November and he has also been a fantastic animal.

In the grand scheme of things, to reiterate on what some of Melita's supporters have said, she is saving the lives of animals that would be dead otherwise. Is this not ultimately what is important? I cannot imagine my life without Bolt and if not for Melita and her rescue, he would not be in it and more than likely would have been put down. I don't care if her house is dirty, whose wouldn't be with dozens of animals in it? The most important thing is that these animals are alive and will ultimately end up with someone who is able to give them a new life.

I love animals, but I couldn't do what she is doing. She does not deserve to be cut down and belittled because a few individuals have had negative experiences with her. I've had very negative experiences with several individuals and businesses but writing an entire blog about it is unreasonable and I have to question the amount of spare time on your hands; I myself, I do not have a lot. I am a busy professional who has far better things to do with her time. However, I cannot help but share my opinion when I am seeing an exceptional and caring individual being cut down by those who do not see the entire picture.
